Meet Our Team: Melanie DeFeo
Melanie DeFeo is focused on placing healthcare providers of all stripes and specialties in facilities across the country. She is a dedicated concierge partner who works with sales and credentialing to ensure each clinician has the requirements and availability to meet the needs of our facility clients.
Melanie’s background includes 18 years in the healthcare industry, including roles in Operations Management and Recruiting. More specifically, she was VP of Operations managing emergency departments and hospital medicine in 8 hospitals in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia—then was a recruiter staffing 8 emergency departments in North Carolina.
Melanie lives in Salisbury, NC where she enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, two sons, and their boxer. When she’s not at home, she likes traveling, riding their motorcycle, fishing, and the great outdoors.

What do you love most about working at FLL?
The thing I love most about working at Floyd Lee Locums would be the family atmosphere that we have here. I love how everyone works as a team, encourages and praises one another, and is always willing to jump in and help each other out.

What are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about my family. We love to travel, and just spend time together. As I get
older, I cherish any time that I get to spend with my family. Any chance that Sean and I get to go out of town, we take it!
Tell us something unique about yourself.
I was a competitive dancer growing up, and my parents’ attic is full of trophies that I won at
competitions throughout middle school and high school. But what most people don’t believe
about me is that I love to hunt and fish… I am a great marksman with a gun!
What is your best advice?
My best advice is to work hard, think outside of the box, take time for yourself (and your
family), and always love what you do! Some days will be more challenging than others, but we
are blessed in every way to work for an amazing company with even more amazing people.
