Meet Our Team: Kemi Upchurch
Considered a top performer in the industry with multiple awards under her belt, Kemi is passionate about providing quality service with each clinician and facility engagement.
Kemi joined Floyd Lee Locums after a career at Supplemental Health Care, where she grew from a recruiter to the Senior Area Director in charge of sales, staffing, and recruitment. With a keen understanding of clinician and facility challenges, she will lead the development of new client relationships, while expanding existing ones.
Kemi lives in Cary, North Carolina with her husband and four children. When she’s not spending quality time with them, she can be found binge-watching her favorite shows, Game of Thrones and Stranger Things.

I graduated high school when I was 16 and I love puzzles. Oh and I’ve watched all 40 seasons of Survivor!
Can you give us any advice about working at Floyd Lee Locums?
You have to treat this like it’s your own business. Do what needs to be done to keep the lights on and the work running smoothly. If you are not passionate and dedicated to your work it will show.
Tell us a little about your history…
I am originally from Nigeria and moved to the states with my parents and siblings when I was 4. I lived in Arkansas, California, and Kentucky between the ages of 4-12 before moving back to Nigeria, where I went on to attend high school and college.
I later moved back to the States in 2002 and have been here ever since. Nigeria will always feel like Home however America has become my adopted home. Three of my siblings live in the US and I have a younger brother that lives in UAE (Abu Dhabi) and Scotland. Both my parents are retired in Nigeria and come often to the States to visit. I am very proud of my Nigerian heritage and plan on taking my children there to visit someday.
