Celebrating a Year of Challenges and
Triumphs and Embracing
the Promise of 2024

A LETTER FROM OUR CEO AND CO-FOUNDER, NATASHA LEE

As we wrap up 2023, I want to take a moment to reflect on the state of our industry this year and the promise that awaits us in 2024. The challenges in the healthcare staffing industry exceeded everyone’s projections, including record-breaking physician and clinician burnout fueled by staffing shortages and inadequate wellness programs. Chronic illnesses that require lifelong treatment also spiked, leading to increased patient loads, while demand for telehealth and other remote healthcare access brought increased demand for and investment in technology.  

As the landscape of healthcare continues to evolve, we know one thing is certain: our role within healthcare systems nationwide is more critical than ever. While we can’t solve all of healthcare’s problems, we can choose how we respond to it. And at Floyd Lee Locums, we chose to continue building our ship regardless of the rough seas around us because we know our impact matters. This resilience was tested at times, but our company culture led us through and reminded us why we’re here.  We simply love what we do and are dedicated to changing the dynamic in healthcare. And it’s obvious to us that we are gaining on that promise based on some of our 2023 accomplishments: 

  • Multiple Awards: Our awards shelf added significant wins this year, including a 5th year in a row for SIA’s “Best Staffing Firms to Temp For”. We also won SC Biz News’ #2“Fastest Growing Company in South Carolina” award. 
  • Rapid Name Recognition: In less than seven years, we went from “Who?” to one the biggest names in locums. This was especially true when we were named the #1 Supplier at Modern Healthcare’s “Best Place to Work” in front of representatives from more than 300 healthcare organizations. 
  • Building Our Team: We added over 50 employees as we continued to invest in giving you the best experience in locums. 
  • New Headquarters: We celebrated our new and expanded headquarters office so we can continue to support you with the concierge support you deserve. 

No matter the challenge, we hold ourselves to our own standard. Concierge isn’t just how we approach locums—it’s also in how we treat each other, the benefits we offer to our employees, and the support we give our communities. We are relentless because we choose to be.  

As 2023 evolved, we realized that this year was foundational for us in many ways. Weathering the challenges of the pandemic and the years following truly demanded that our organization take stock of our relevancy in our industry. We answered the call, as we always do, with resilience, dedication, and a desire to serve. We enter 2024 with a renewed sense of commitment and optimism for our future. This outlook is based on we’ve accomplished to date and our upcoming projects: 

  • Our website revamp (launching in January!) will accelerate physicians’ and clinicians’ access to our locums assignments and dramatically enhance the application process. 
  • Investments in our software will significantly speed up credentialing time, already at the top of our industry, and offer physicians and clinicians an optimized mobile experience.  
  • Our Government Affairs division will be scaling in 2024 to continue supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal agencies for emerging situations. 
  • Our Locums Toolkit will introduce new and exciting benefits and resources to ensure our physicians and clinicians have best-in-class tools to support their locums workstyle. 

Together, we CHOOSE to make 2024 a landmark year. I am confident that we will propel to new heights in the locums industry. Thank you for being on this journey with us. We are proud to be your partner in healthcare and proud to support you on your locums journey.
