A healthcare organization in Central Connecticut is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an ongoing locum tenens urgent care assignment. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling with a primary focus on weekend coverage and the ability to work across multiple clinic locations.

Assignment Details

• Setting: Urgent Care
• Start Date: October 1, 2026
• Contract: October 1, 2026 – February 28, 2027
• Schedule: Weekend coverage with additional weekday opportunities as available
• Call: None

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and minor injuries
• Perform suturing, wound care, and incision and drainage procedures
• Apply splints and other orthopedic interventions
• Order and interpret X-rays and EKGs
• Perform routine office procedures, including phlebotomy
• Provide care for pediatric and adult patients
• Practice independently in an urgent care setting

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Experience practicing independently in an urgent care setting
• Experience treating patients of all ages
• Proficiency with suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, X-ray interpretation, EKG interpretation, and phlebotomy
• Ability to travel between multiple clinic locations, including split-shift assignments
• Flexibility to accommodate weekend coverage and schedule changes
• Local or regional candidates preferred
