Primary Care Physician – Outpatient Family Medicine / Internal Medicine

A healthcare organization in Northern California is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician for a long-term locum tenens assignment. This full-time outpatient opportunity offers a consistent four-day workweek focused on preventive care, chronic disease management, and continuity of care for an adult patient population.

Assignment Details

• Setting: Outpatient Primary Care Clinic
• Start Date: January 2027
• Contract: 9–12 months
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM
• Call: None
• Credentialing: Approximately 60–90 days
• EMR: Cerner CareB

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care for adult patients
• Perform preventive health visits and annual wellness exams
• Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions
• Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate follow-up care
• Collaborate with medical assistants and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document patient encounters using Cerner CareB

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Active California medical license
• Full-time availability for the duration of the assignment
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Active DEA registration
• Experience caring for adult patients required; pediatric experience preferred
• Eligible for hospital credentialing
