Autonomous Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care | Flexible Weekday Schedule
Floyd Lee Locums is seeking an experienced Autonomous Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care services in a correctional healthcare setting in Virginia. This full-time assignment offers a consistent weekday schedule with no call responsibilities and the option of five 8-hour or four 10-hour shifts.
Assignment Details
- 3-6 month assignment
- Start as soon as credentialed
- Approximately 3-week credentialing timeframe
- Full-time weekday coverage
- Schedule options:
- Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Four 10-hour shifts, approximately 6:00 AM-5:00 PM
- No call
- Correctional healthcare setting
- Approximately 16 patients per 8-hour day or 20 patients per 10-hour day
- Standard visits are approximately 30 minutes, with additional time for complex patients
- Paper charting and Cerner Millennium
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care to an adult correctional patient population
- Evaluate patient histories, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic information
- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, infections, injuries, and chronic medical conditions
- Develop appropriate treatment plans and recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions
- Provide medication management and prescribe medications within authorized scope of practice
- Educate patients regarding acute and chronic disease management
- Provide evidence-based health education
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other advanced practice providers
- Assist with treatment plan development and modification
- Complete accurate clinical documentation and follow institutional healthcare protocols
Requirements
- Autonomous Nurse Practitioner
- Active Virginia license required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Active DEA registration
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary correctional healthcare environment
- Required identification and background-clearance documentation
- Two MD/DO professional references
