OB/GYN Laborist

Overview

A hospital in western New York is seeking a Board Certified OB/GYN Laborist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity beginning August 24, 2026. This is an urgent need for 24-hour in-house labor and delivery coverage with temporary privileges available for qualified candidates. The facility is seeking providers who can begin as soon as possible and offer approximately five 24-hour shifts per month.

  • Setting: Hospital Labor & Delivery
  • Start Date: August 24, 2026 (ASAP)
  • Contract Length: Ongoing
  • Schedule: 24-hour in-house shifts (8:00 AM–8:00 AM)
  • Coverage: Approximately 5 shifts per month
  • Maximum Consecutive Shifts: 5
  • Call: 24-hour in-house Laborist coverage
  • Call Room: Provided
  • Clinic: None currently
  • EMR: Epic
  • Credentialing: Temporary/emergency privileges available

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous Labor & Delivery coverage during assigned shifts
  • Perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries
  • Manage fetal non-stress testing
  • Evaluate and manage obstetric emergencies, including ectopic pregnancies
  • Provide inpatient obstetric care and consultations
  • Collaborate with APPs, midwives, and hospital specialists
  • Document patient care in Epic

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Active New York medical license
  • DEA and New York CSR
  • ACLS certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Ability to start as soon as credentialed
