Schedule
- Monday–Sunday Coverage
- 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Weekend rotation required
- Approximately 16 shifts per month
- No call responsibilities
Practice Details
- Inpatient neurosurgery service
- Rotation between:
- Primary inpatient coverage
- Secondary inpatient coverage
- OR support
- Neurosurgery clinic
- Existing patient rounding
- Surgical site assessments
- Drain management
- ICP monitor management
- ICU daily notes
- Care coordination with surgeons and APPs
- Epic Bridges EMR
- Adult patient population only
Typical Cases
- Stroke
- Intracranial Hemorrhage (ICH)
- Brain Tumors
- Back and Neck Pain
- Cerebral Aneurysms
Procedures & Surgical Cases
- Laminectomy
- Spinal Fusion
- Craniotomy
- Thrombectomy
- Burr Hole Procedures
- Surgical Assisting (preferred but not required)
Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Active Pennsylvania License required
- IMLC accepted
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- BLS required
- CPR certification required
- Comfortable with inpatient neurosurgery workflows
- Surgical assist experience preferred
