A teaching hospital in the Stockton metropolitan area is seeking a Board-Certified Neurologist for an ongoing locum tenens assignment beginning in October 2026. This opportunity offers 7-on/7-off style inpatient coverage in a collaborative academic environment where the physician will work closely with neurology residents and provide consultative care across a broad range of acute neurologic conditions.

Assignment Details

• Setting: Inpatient Teaching Hospital
• Start Date: October 2026
• Contract Length: Ongoing
• Schedule: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
• Coverage: Week-long assignment blocks
• Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 8-10 weeks (expedited options available)

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient neurology consultations
• Cover general inpatient neurology and vascular/stroke services
• Supervise and teach neurology residents in an academic setting
• Evaluate and manage acute neurologic conditions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including residents and medical students
• Perform lumbar punctures as needed (preferred)

Requirements

• Board Certified in Neurology (Board Eligible candidates will not be considered)
• Active California medical license
• Comfortable supervising residents in a teaching environment
• Lumbar puncture experience preferred
• Must be available for designated coverage blocks
