Overview

A healthcare organization in Central North Dakota is seeking a Board Certified Neonatologist for an urgent locum tenens assignment. This inpatient opportunity provides 24-hour NICU call coverage with flexible scheduling across multiple coverage blocks, with preference for one provider to cover the full assignment.

Assignment Details

  • Setting: Inpatient NICU
  • Start Date: August 2026
  • Contract: Multiple coverage blocks available through September 13, 2026
  • Schedule: 24-hour shifts (8:00 AM–8:00 AM)
  • Call: 24-hour call with weekend coverage as needed
  • EMR: EPIC
  • Credentialing: Approximately 60–90 days; expedited review may be available for qualified candidates
  • Temporary Privileges: TBD

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive neonatal care in a Level IIIB NICU
  • Manage critically ill and premature newborns
  • Perform neonatal procedures within the scope of Neonatology
  • Evaluate and manage NICU admissions
  • Collaborate with neonatal advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Document patient care using EPIC

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Neonatology
  • Completion of Neonatology fellowship and residency training
  • North Dakota medical license highly preferred or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
  • Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
  • Clean malpractice history preferred
  • Availability for one or more of the requested August and September coverage periods
