A cancer center in the Lafayette metropolitan area is seeking an experienced Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a locum-to-permanent opportunity. This outpatient position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with no inpatient responsibilities and is ideal for a provider seeking a long-term career opportunity. Assignment Details

• Setting: Outpatient Cancer Center
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Length: Ongoing (Locum-to-Perm)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Call: Saturday call approximately once every 3 months (8:00 AM–12:00 PM)
• Telehealth: Available
• EMR: Epic
• Credentialing: Approximately 120 days; temporary privileges not available

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage a full panel of hematology and oncology patients
• Conduct treatment visits, follow-up appointments, and select new patient consultations
• Coordinate care for medically complex oncology patients
• Collaborate with physicians, infusion staff, and the multidisciplinary care team
• Provide telehealth visits as appropriate
• Supervise advanced practice providers
• Participate in resident and teaching activities
• Remain on-site until the final chemotherapy or biotherapy treatment is completed each day

Requirements

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner
• Active Louisiana license or IMLC
• BLS certification
• Chemotherapy certification required
• Hematology/Oncology fellowship required
• Minimum of 3–5 years of Hematology/Oncology experience
• Experience independently managing complex oncology patients
• Strong care coordination and collaboration skills
• Commitment to transitioning into a permanent position within 60 days of starting
