A Texas healthcare organization is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for locum tenens coverage in Tyler. This opportunity is focused on supporting a busy GI service with scheduled endoscopy procedures and inpatient consults. Details

• Location: Tyler, Texas
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Setting: Hospital-based Gastroenterology
• Patient Volume: Approximately 5–7 encounters per shift
• Credentialing: Approximately 30–60 days
• Established GI team with NP and PA support
• Primary focus on scheduled colonoscopies with inpatient GI consult coverage as needed

Requirements

• Board-Certified Physician
• Gastroenterology fellowship training
• ABLS
• ACLS
• ATLS
• BLS
• Comfortable providing both general and advanced gastroenterology services

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled colonoscopies, including biopsy and polypectomy
• Perform upper GI endoscopy with biopsy and therapeutic intervention
• Provide diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP
• Perform endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
• Manage inpatient GI consultations
• Perform esophageal dilation and manometry
• Provide PEG placement
• Manage GI bleeding, including endoscopic intervention
• Perform flexible and rigid sigmoidoscopy
• Perform small bowel and liver biopsies
• Provide additional GI procedures within scope and privileges
