Emergency Medicine Physician – Flexible Emergency Department Coverage

Overview

A healthcare organization in Southern Oklahoma is seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for an ongoing locum tenens assignment. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling with a variety of day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts across community emergency departments, with priority coverage for nights and weekends.

Assignment Details

  • Setting: Emergency Department
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract: Ongoing
  • Credentialing: Approximately 90 days
  • Schedule: 8–10 shifts per month
  • Shift Lengths: 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts
  • Coverage Needs: Days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Priority Coverage: Nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Call: None
  • EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute illnesses and injuries
  • Perform emergency procedures, including airway management, intubation, and central line placement
  • Stabilize critically ill and injured patients
  • Coordinate care with consulting specialists and multidisciplinary teams
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and emergency department personnel
  • Document patient encounters using Epic

Requirements

  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
  • Completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency
  • Active Oklahoma medical license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility
  • Active DEA registration and CSR, as required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
  • Case logs and professional references required for credentialing
  • Eligible for hospital credentialing
