Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with acute illnesses and injuries
• Perform emergency procedures, including moderate sedation
• Manage a broad range of adult and pediatric emergency presentations
• Supervise and provide clinical backup for nurse practitioners and physician assistants
• Coordinate patient care with consulting services and hospital staff
• Complete timely and accurate medical documentation

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
• Completion of a three-year residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
• Active Mississippi medical license
• Active Mississippi DEA registration
• Minimum of 2,000 emergency department or acute care clinical hours within the past two years
• Current ACLS and ATLS certifications
• PALS certification required for physicians who are not Emergency Medicine trained or board certified
• Ability to perform moderate sedation
• Documentation of recent case logs and continuing medical education required
• Experience supervising advanced practice providers
