A trauma center in the Fort Myers metropolitan area is seeking an ABEM Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment beginning in January 2027. This opportunity offers 10-hour day shifts, no call, APP support, and a preferred 7-on/7-off schedule with ongoing coverage needs.

Assignment Details

• Setting: Emergency Department
• Start Date: January 2027
• Contract Length: Approximately 6 months
• Schedule: 10-hour day shifts
• Shift Times: 12:00 PM–10:00 PM or 1:00 PM–11:00 PM
• Preferred Schedule: 7-on/7-off
• Call: None
• Overtime: None

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate, stabilize, and treat adult and pediatric emergency medicine patients
• Manage high-acuity trauma cases
• Collaborate with APPs in the Emergency Department
• Complete patient care and documentation before the end of each shift
• Provide occasional coverage at nearby affiliated facilities if needed

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM)
• Active Florida medical license required
• ATLS certification required
• Clean malpractice and background history
• Current CV and required facility attestation documentation
