What Exactly Is
Concierge Locums?

At Floyd Lee Locums, we believe the best way to say “thank you” to our locum tenens physicians and clinicians is by giving them concierge treatment in every aspect of their lives. From career support to personal care, our mission is to ensure that our providers are empowered to do the work they’re meant to do, without distraction, stress, or unnecessary burden.

“When we started Floyd Lee Locums, it wasn’t about staffing…it was about creating a company that truly serves those who serve others,” says CEO and Co-Founder Natasha Lee. “We wanted clinicians to feel seen, supported, and celebrated in every part of their lives. Concierge locums is our way of saying: you matter.”

But what does “concierge locums” look like?

Defining Concierge Locums

Concierge locums is the practice of providing personalized, attentive, and proactive support throughout a clinicians’ locum tenens journey. It’s about treating providers like people by building strong, long-lasting relationships. We anticipate needs, solve problems before they arise, and make every assignment seamless and fulfilling.

“Chanelle and I received a request for an updated application at 1:40pm yesterday afternoon, with a 3pm deadline, or they were going to cancel our provider. Felicia knew her provider was working and may be unable to answer his phone, but that didn’t stop her. She was able to get the information we needed, we updated the app, and the provider resubmitted by 2pm, an hour before the deadline.”

But we don’t stop there. Oftentimes, physicians and clinicians have long shifts or are too tired to take care of personal tasks that need their attention. We help with that, too.

Many locum tenens agencies purport individualized and attentive care for their medical providers. Once you sign on, that promise fades and you are treated like a revenue stream and not a person. With Floyd Lee Locums, the promise of concierge service is wholly fulfilled. My Healthcare Consultant sincerely and honestly cares about you as a person, your welfare on the assignment, your safety while lodging, and ensuring that your family is also well. It is a refreshing and sobering experience.

– LaTicia T.

Concierge locums means understanding that every clinician’s life and career path is unique, and then implementing that ideal into everything we do. We don’t cut corners or assume we know someone’s motivations. We check in, we follow up, and we follow through.

Whether you’re working locums as a career, transitioning to retirement, or paying off debt, our concierge approach adapts to your life and goals and helps you implement them.

Concierge Locums in Action

At Floyd Lee Locums, the essence of concierge locums is felt in the experiences of the physicians and clinicians we support. Their stories speak volumes about the care, responsiveness, and personal attention we strive for every day. Whether it’s helping a doctor navigate locums for the first time or supporting a clinician through a rough time, each story speaks to the heart of our concierge approach.

A Bike, A Dad, and a Mission

When Dr. D, who lived in Manhattan, accepted a locums role in upstate New York, we discovered he didn’t drive and had no transportation to the facility from his accommodations. Lauren Weatherbee, Sr. Director of Business Development, and her team sprang into action as soon as they heard. They located a Walmart close by, purchased a bicycle Dr. D liked, and Lauren’s dad assembled it. Yes, her DAD. Within 24 hours, the bicycle was hand delivered to the facility. Dr. expressed his deep appreciation, not just for the transportation, but for the care and thoughtfulness behind it. And he got to keep the bike.

A Birthday in Denver

When our Sr. Client Services Manager, Tessa Maarschalkerweerd, learned that she and two of her colleagues would be in Denver the same week one of our clinicians, Sarah, had a week off, she organized dinner plans for all of them to meet in person. When Tessa discovered it was also Sarah’s birthday week, she included a birthday cake in the festivities. “We had a blast together,” says Healthcare Consultant Jen Leshny. “We even sang to her in the restaurant.”

Compassion in Crisis

Over the last two years, our country has seen a variety of disasters from hurricanes to flood to wildfires. When your life is touched by tragedy, it can be difficult to focus, but physicians and clinicians do it every day, no matter what their personal life is like.

During a difficult personal loss, E.M., an NP, received logistical support and emotional care from all of us at Floyd Lee Locums. “I am so grateful for all you have done for me. The card, email messages, prayers, and flowers meant a lot to me as I am struggling with this tragic loss. Along with the emotional support you gave me, all the kindness frankly helped me endure. Please know that your care has touched me deeply. Also, know that it helped me bear my pain. With gratitude, I want to say, Thank You.”

Another clinician shares, “They are very supportive. Made sure I had what I needed during Covid, called just to make sure things were going well at my assignments, and when I had to have surgery they called to check on me personally and sent me a blanket. When my father died they sent flowers that got to my house before I got home.”

When Illness Strikes

LaTicia T., a Family Medicine NP, shares a powerful story of falling ill during an assignment. “I became very ill and missed several weeks of work. Instead of being admonished, I was sent an Edible Arrangement with well wishes (plus a teddy bear) and the company sent a beautiful gift during “Locums” week. I honestly cannot say enough great things about the entire team. If you want my experience, just move on over to Floyd Lee Locums. I promise they will take care of you!”

For Dr. Andrews, who lives with MS, our team ensured her assignments were a fit for her personal needs and health, including sending IV hydration packets, finding pet-friendly accommodations for her dog Milo, and making recommendations for restaurants and parks near the facility that she could get to. “Those little things matter,” Dr. Andrews says. “When I showed up to my assignment, all I had to do was focus on the work, be present, and enjoy the experience.” She continues, “Honestly, I couldn’t have done it without my recruiter, Leslie. She’s more than my recruiter—she’s my friend, my advocate, and someone who truly understands what I need, not just in work, but in life.”

Dr. Rasheedah Andrews walks with Floyd Lee Locums Healthcare Consultant Leslie Munn in the park. Leslie's face is turned to Dr. Andrews' and they're both smiling. Dr. Andrews holds her dog, Milo, in her arms who is looking directly at the camera.

Voices of Our Clinicians

These stories speak volumes about the personal touch Floyd Lee Locums takes pride in providing physicians and clinicians so they can live a better life. But many times, it’s the day-to-day interactions or a note in the mail that makes the biggest difference.

“A true honor to have worked with Floyd Lee Locums. Their seamless process along with their passionate physician advocacy sets them apart from the bigger locum tenens companies. Highly recommend.”

– Dr. Ziad S.

“I am a CRNA with 24 years plus experience. I have worked with multiple locum agencies prior to coming to Floyd Lee. I think I finally found an agency that listens to my concerns and acts accordingly.”

– Ademola S., CRNA

“The professionalism and efficiency of the entire team have made assignments smooth and stress-free. Many thanks go to the highly-skilled individuals in credentialing, accounting, and operations who take care of all the logistical details and allow me to focus entirely on providing the best possible care to my patients. The expressions and gifts of appreciation throughout the year for being a part of Floyd Lee Locums is a bonus.”

– Dr. DS

“My support from FLL was the best I’ve ever experienced, from my point of contact, through payroll, operations, and even personal attention from higher management. My experience with FLL was unmatched in my locums experience.”

– Thomas P.

“Thank you so much for your concern with the sympathy card. Your Floyd Lee Locums team are a class act.”

– Dr. H.

“One of the best things I did this year was become a part of a company that treats its employees like family.”

– Latoya R.

“I was extremely nervous in the beginning, but you guys have made me feel very secure.”

– Valerie W.

Why It Matters

Locum tenens clinicians form the backbone of healthcare adaptability. They fill gaps, respond to crises, and bring expertise where it’s needed most such as rural facilities or clinics in underserved areas. But too often, they’re treated like stopgaps…temporary solutions rather than valued professionals.

Concierge locums flips that narrative. We say: You matter. Your work matters. Your well-being matters. Your family matters.

Concierge care means anticipating needs, handling the details so others can focus on what matters, and following through with intention. It means returning calls and emails within hours (not days), being the one to reach out first, and celebrating people even when it’s not a holiday or important milestone.

This approach is especially vital in today’s healthcare landscape, where burnout, staffing shortages, and administrative overload are rampant. By offering concierge-level support, we help clinicians focus on what they do best: caring for patients and enjoying the lives they always dreamed they would have. We remove barriers, reduce stress, and create a foundation of trust and respect.

One physician shares, “Being treated less like a means for the company to make money and more like an individual, with my own desires and needs, and having FLL staff interact with me on a personal basis, taking me as in individual into account as a top priority. It’s about the customer service first, and the high rate of compensation also does not hurt at all. But I’d trade the compensation for the personal care any day.”

It’s also about sustainability. When clinicians feel supported, they’re more likely to stay in the field, take on new assignments, and bring their best selves to their work. They will be healthier both mentally and physically. They can be fully present for their families and enjoy their time off. Concierge locums isn’t just good for providers, it’s good for patients, facilities, and the future of healthcare.

In an industry often driven by metrics and margins, we choose to lead with empathy and by building long-term meaningful relationships with people. We believe that kindness, responsiveness, and genuine care are not extras. They’re essential for human life.

Continuing the Journey Together

As we celebrate National Locum Tenens Week, we honor the physicians, CRNAs, nurse practitioners, dentists, and other clinicians who choose this path, and we promise to walk it with them, every step of the way.

Whether it’s assembling a bike, organizing a birthday dinner, or sending a care package during a tough time, we’re here for you. Not just as a staffing agency, but as a partner, advocate, and friend.

“Thanks for answering the call and allowing us to play some small part in this journey with you. You bring compassion, skill, and dedication to every assignment and every patient, every day. Our concierge approach is rooted in our admiration and appreciation for everything you do. We are honored to support you.”

– CEO Natasha Lee
