How Floyd Lee Locums is Looking to the Future
At Floyd Lee Locums, we are privileged to get to work with a wide array of locums talent. From veteran staffing professionals to up-and-coming recruitment gurus, our team’s evolution over four years has been one dedicated to unearthing each individual’s potential.
Recently, we have been able to do this through a unique leadership program in our company’s home city of Charleston, South Carolina. Together, with other organizations, the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce is preparing tomorrow’s leader by providing critical training, opportunities and an expanded network of colleagues through its community initiative project.
Dubbed Leadership Charleston, this program is a year-long commitment to immerse participants in the challenges and opportunities of the city—and engage them to become the community leaders that help address and solve them. Along with the chance to influence local and regional change, members also gain skills to take back to their own organizations to become the business leaders of tomorrow.
As our Chief Executive Officer, Natasha Lee, puts it, “Leadership Charleston is an incredible opportunity for us to identify high-potential future leaders and expose them to leadership principles across many sectors. The Chamber allows us to invest in our people—while also giving them the practices and built-in peers they will need to thrive in the prospective senior roles that wait for them in their future.
Floyd Lee Locums has such an appreciation for the program, our current management staff is identifying and encouraging employees at the company to apply annually. One of the applicants selected for Leadership Charleston’s Class of 2021 was Desmond Jefferson, our very own Sales Support Coordinator.
“Every part of Leadership Charleston was different, and I was blown away by the overall program,” said Jefferson. “It was inspiring to hear from those who paved the way for aspiring young leaders like me. Each of them had something different to teach us—and now I have tools added to my toolbelt for a leadership position. I will forever be grateful for this opportunity.”
